We collect information in two main categories:

  • Account & Creator Data: When you register for an account, we collect your name, email address, password hash, and workspace information.
  • Survey Responses & Respondent Data: When respondents take a survey, we collect submitted answers along with basic technical data (such as timestamps and user agent strings) required for anti-spam verification and response delivery.

3. Data Ownership & Sovereignty

You retain 100% ownership of your surveys, questions, and collected response data. SurveyTool does not monetize, sell, or rent your survey responses or email lists to any third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

4. How We Use Collected Data

Information collected through SurveyTool is used strictly to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain survey authoring and collection services
  • Generate aggregated analytics, completion metrics, and exportable reports for survey creators
  • Detect and prevent automated spam, fraudulent submissions, and platform abuse
  • Authenticate registered users and protect account security

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use only essential session cookies and security tokens required for authentication and CSRF protection. We do not employ third-party advertising trackers, cross-site beacons, or commercial tracking pixels.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security safeguards including encrypted session authentication, secure password hashing (PBKDF2/SHA-256), rate limiting, and access-controlled workspace permissions.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

You may export your responses at any time in standard CSV format or delete surveys, responses, and accounts directly through the platform. Deleted survey data is permanently removed from the active database.
